I'm the kind of person that hates to wear my sweater while eating. This was the only reason we traveled to Spokane. I say do you have any salsa? He looks at me strange.
I guess usually you pay for salsa here? They only have one type of salsa btw,no green sauce. My salad was a good size and looked appetizing. It came with a cilantro dressing which was ok. When I looked at the meat I wasn't too sure what meat it was, since it was a dark color.
It was chicken. There was lettuce, black beans, chicken and I think some cheese and sauce. I liked these. The meat, bean, sauce, had very little flavor. The salad was placed on top of a tortilla and in a tin pie pan with lid. My younger son had the Carnivore. It had several types of meat in it. He said he could really only taste the bacon. My older son had a chicken burrito. He said it was pretty meh. My DH had the pork burrito.
All he said was it was sweet. Unlike some other places we have been that are similar, this place doesn't make their own tortillas at least in front of you. They don't ask you what you want on the burrito or salad. You get it the way they make it. If you are ok with MEH than you are in the right place. There was nothing wrong with the food or the service. The place was clean, but empty for dinner. I could have made tastier Mexican food is this is what this place is trying to be? At home.
Definitely an American take on the burrito.
I would not call this place Mexican. I see they are building another location on the north side close to the college district. Maybe it will fare better there. Good food. Ok value. Kid friendly. Is a bit loud inside.

Their sweet pork is very yummy. Wish they had nutrition info available for those on low carb lifestyle. The orders i did choose were absolutely amazing, lots of food for the price. The food at this place was so flavourless that I was reduced to putting ketchup on it just to give a little bit of pep to it.
My burrito looked good and the ingredients tasted fresh, there was simply a complete and utter lack of seasoning of any kind that didn't come in the form of an added sauce. Spicy rooster and the like should compliment the food its going on, not be the only source of taste in a dish. When I go to Mexican restaurants in the inland northwest, I understand there is a certain amount of making things palatable for white people, but dang, my burrito may as well have been made from Wonder bread.
